PUPIL’S CODE OF CONDUCT GRADES 8 – 12
All pupils must be conversant with the school’s code of conduct and abide by the rules as their contribution to the smooth running of the school and the upholding of its standards.
Preamble
Remember that at all times you are the School’s representative, and as a member of Boitumelong High School you are expected to adhere to this school’s standard of courtesy and dignity.
I will respect myself and other people, the property and possessions of others, the school and myself.
I will always perform to the best of my ability.
I will diligently do my homework and assignments.
I will not cheat or crib or be dishonest in any way.
I will be punctual for all activities and classes.
I will comply with the various sets of rules that govern different school areas.
I will adhere to the dress code at all times.
I will be responsible for bringing the correct stationery, calculator, textbooks, exercise books and other utensils to class and to study.
I will not cause disruption by rowdy behaviour, foul language or fighting.
I will not litter or write graffiti of any kind on the walls.
I will not have in my possession or use chewing gum, cigarettes, alcohol, drugs or any or any other addictive material.
I will not leave school grounds during school hours without official permission.
I will not have any pornographic material, weapons or potentially dangerous objects in my possession at any time.
I will not engage in any physical contact, which others might regard as sexual in nature.
I will never steal or “borrow” without permission.
I will be silent during line-ups, inside the blocks and during assembly.
I am accountable for my actions.
I accept the authority of the Boitumelong Senior Secondary School.
Standards Of Courtesy
Pupils Are Expected To:
Pupils are expected to:
1. Obey instructions issued by a member of staff, class representative and LRC members.
2. Greet the teacher at the beginning of a lesson and wait to be dismissed at the end.
3. Make way for a teacher on crowded stairs or corridors.
4. Greet visitors in the corridors and offer assistance when necessary.
Misconduct
Schedule 1
A learner will be guilty of misconduct if he or she, intentionally and without just excuse.
(a) seriously threatens, disrupts of frustrates teaching or learning in a class.
(b) Engages in a conspiracy to disrupt the proper functioning of the school through collective action
