Soccer

Dispite lack of sporting facilities such as football ground, our players try their utmost in competing with their counterparts. The nearby Xubeni and Ecaleni community grounds (2km) are mostly utilised as our home venues for in matches.
Both boys and girls have passion in this sport and this is explicitly evidence when we highlight the incentives won.

Netball

This is another sporting activity for girls that recently overlap to boys. Most local and district competitions under Netball South Africa (NSA) invite our school for both genders. Because of limited international exposure our Tembisa schools are only participating for local and district competitions.

The teams are promisingly active although we lack of sporting grounds is a problem. This force them to play local league games outside school premises and it sometimes inconvenience community teams. We’re trying to motivate them while looking for sponsorships for development of grounds as we have plenty of spaces.

Chess

As an indoor sporting activity, it has provoked lot of interest amongst Boitumelong learners especially boys. Chess has been discovered as one of the sporting activities promoting dendrites reaction for quick thinking.

EXTRA-MURAL ACTIVITIES

Volleyball

Although we don’t have facility for volleyball, our learners improvise and play in front of school buildings.
One of our learners won medals after being selected for the MEC ball games competition.

Captains: Bongani Balabala and Yende Nhlanhla

Athletics

This activity enjoys popular support especially the new comers as it becomes active in January to April.
Athletics team competes from local up to District level. One of our 800m outstanding player is Sylvester Lethulatshipi who won trophies even in cross county events.

In conclusion-As our major challenge is sporting facilities-we appeal to any Good Samaritan who can help in renovating an existing open space.

School sports plays a pivotal role in pursuit of the child’s development in totality. The aims and objectives of school sports inter alia includes socialisation; talent promotion, fun.
